About Us
Who Are We?
NG Showcase Limited, also known as Nigerian Showcase is a social enterprise that advocates for local production and consumption in Nigeria. We provide market access, training, sensitization, and access to finance for local producers with the aim of fostering economic and sustainable development.
Mision
Our mission is to support local producers by raising high-potential entrepreneurs who
will stimulate economic growth and social development in Africa. We will achieve this through community building, training, media, innovation and technology.
Vision
Our Vision is to create an ecosystem of indigenous and sustainable businesses in Nigeria for economic impact.
Our Story
How the Journey Began
NG Showcase Limited, also known as Nigerian Showcase was conceptualized in 2016 to provide market access to locally made products in Nigeria. At that time, lots of small businesses emerged online in Nigeria with little or no support to market their products. With our online platforms, we were able to promote over 100 businesses in the first year.
We continued to do that, then we realized a need for community among these producers and we conceptualized the idea of MINEC (Made In Nigeria Entrepreneurs Community), a network of local producers in 2018 which gave birth to a robust community of about 300 entrepreneurs of which 95% are women.
Through the community, we have been able to further push awareness for locally made products through the activities we organized such as trade fairs, capacity-building programs, and access to funding. We believe in a thriving economy in Nigeria, driven by the power of the combination of entrepreneurship, community building, and media.
The Challenges
Poor Product Image
Locally crafted goods in Nigeria often face unjust stereotypes, hindering their recognition and market reach. Overcoming these biases is crucial to unlocking the full potential of our artisans and industries.
Low Patronage
Despite the rich craftsmanship in Nigeria, locally made products often receive inadequate support. This lack of patronage hinders the growth and prosperity of our artisans and industries.
Low Access to Finance
Indigenous manufacturers in Nigeria face significant hurdles in obtaining essential financial resources. This obstacle impedes growth, innovation, and economic sustainability within our local industries.
Business Skills Gap
Many indigenous manufacturers in Nigeria face a critical shortage of essential business skills. Bridging this gap is crucial for unlocking their full potential and fostering sustainable economic growth.
No Reliable Database
One of the pressing challenges in Nigeria is the absence of a reliable database for local producers and service providers. This gap hampers efficient connections, hindering the potential for economic development.
